Bun-G-Ring Launches the Circular Glass Adapter (CGA-138) at the BSC Expo… no More Taping Round Glass Elements
Come see Bun-G-Ring’s latest innovative product, the CGA-138 (Circular Glass Adapter), a new patent-pending solution for mounting 138 mm diopters, rota polas and other round optical elements directly to the lens without tape or a traditional matte box. Designed for fast-moving productions and compact camera builds, the Circular Glass Adapter provides a minimal and reliable way to work with round glass when matte boxes are impractical or simply in the way.
The Bun-G-Ring premiered last year at the BSC Expo and is a lightweight, flexible filter-mounting system that allows cinematographers to mount filters directly to lenses using bungee cords, without matte boxes or tape.
The Circular Glass Adapter mounts onto an existing Bun-G-Ring and features a newly developed Spring & Lock Mechanism. A key advantage of the CGA design is that glass can be inserted and swapped from the front, allowing operators to change optics in seconds without complex handling or reconfiguring the setup. Once locked, the mechanism provides a firm and stable hold. Rectangular filters can still be used alongside the CGA, either in front of it or between the CGA and the Bun-G-Ring, enabling precise placement of diopters as close to the lens as possible. When additional optical strength is required, multiple CGA-138 units can be stacked and used simultaneously.
The adapter is manufactured from the same materials as the Bun-G-Ring system: glass fiber-reinforced polyamide, stainless steel and silicone, and weighs just 49.7 g (1.75 oz). The CGA-138 functions exclusively as part of the Bun-G-Ring ecosystem.
