Established on the US West Coast in 2011 the company opened a UK and Europe office in London in 2018 with a local web site – drivingplates.co.uk – making the entire library of over 20,000 clips available to European productions on GMT. Since then other international office have been added in Tokyo, Chennai and Toronto.
If something more specific is needed, like your hero streets, precise location or historic backdrop then DrivingPlates.co.uk can send out a UK based crew to shoot for you, embedded in the second or with main unit or completely independently. With our Clean Capture Technology that incorporates physical and optical stabilisation, our plates are perfect for LED or VFX use. Our current configuration mostly uses 9 Red Komodo 6k cameras with global shutter and over 50k total horizontal resolution for when stitching is needed – all still with a road legal standard base vehicle to shoot on public roads at bus, 4×4 or saloon car height.
Our crew and equipment can fly and attach to a local vehicle on more distant locations.
